We are hosting a Back to School party and benefit on 8/25 for the Ben Christo family. An Art Show and silent auction will be held at the Wayne Center of Arts. Ben was a teacher there and an accomplished artist. His work will be on display at the center in September. Prints will be available of his work.

Ben's wife Nancy and their Kdg. son need our support during this transition. Please join us as we celebrate being back to school while remembering this important member of our Montessori Community.

Crazy Nate’s BBQ will be serving lunch and supper. So, take it back to the office and drop a gift in the box for the family. The rest of the events will open at 4:30 and conclude around 6:30.


Wednesday, August 25th events will include:

Information Table

  • Ben Christo van DerWesthuizen Art Show information will be announced at the event

  • Donations (for family) accepted by credit card or billed to your school account (cash donation areas throughout event)

  • 50/50 drawing - half to the winning ticket holder (do not need to be present - name on ticket - no stub) and half to the family. Tickets are $1 each.

  • Accept silent auction pledges to be sold at the Art Show for the family

  • Montessori Spirit Garments will be on sale - Benefits MSW.

  • 2021/22 MSW Volunteer Sign-ups

  • Fall Mum Sale Orders will be accepted - Benefits MSW

Games and Inflatables

  • The Dari-land Bounce House and Monster Slide will be set-up from 4:30 - 6:30

  • Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4 for all ages

  • Sandboxes and Trail Hikes

Live Music - 5 pm - 6 pm

  • The Lovedays will be providing live music during the supper hour.

  • Benches will be available in this area - bring your own chair to be sure to get a good seat

Farmer's Market

  • Fresh produce will be available (donations accepted - everything goes to the family) Produce has been provided by A Whole Community. It will be available for sale before noon on Wednesday.

Food

  • Self-serve ice cream will be on the porch (donations accepted - not required - everything goes to the family)

  • Crazy Nate's BBQ will be on-site from 12 - 6:30 - Self pay at food truck (donations will go to family)

  • Biltz Snow Cone Trailer will be open 4:30 - 6:30 - Self pay at trailer (donations will go to family)

  • Hot dogs and water on porch (donations accepted - not required - everything goes to the family)

  • Corn Roast in lawn near green bridge (donations accepted - not required - everything goes to the family)

  • Water will be located throughout the event

Restrooms

  • Porta-Jon's are available & the school will be open for you to use the rest rooms

  • Portable Handwashing Stations will be available outside
