Our pandemic childcare service will be expanding on June 1st and we are making plans for the fall.
Our pandemic childcare requirements of wellness checks and small self-contained groups will remain in place. The biggest change is the expansion of group sizes for preschool/elementary students from 6 per class to 9. We are opening another class for June 1st. We have a few open spots for new students. If you need childcare, we need you to register. You are billed according to what you use. Don't delay - we can't serve drop-ins at this time and need time to open new rooms. Registration link
These same rules give me great optimism for the fall. They are within our current teacher/student ratios making it possible for us to plan for all day/ every day services for our students. Having this past month to operate with the pandemic childcare regulations has helped us to plan for the fall.
I expect the State of Ohio to make changes but am pleased to know that closure is not a requirement for our families. We are licensed to serve 220 students. We plan to serve 170. A series of parent zoom meetings will be held over the summer to keep everyone informed and updated.
Carrie is working through the 2020/21 enrollment paperwork at this time. We do have waiting lists now at preschool through Upper Elementary levels. If your plans are changing, increases and decreases in needs, we need to know. It is our desire to staff to best serve our families. That includes hiring staff, purchasing materials, and planning spaces. Your communication is an important part of that planning.
Ed Choice scholarships are all due May 30th. Natasha is reaching out to several families who have not submitted all of the documents we need to complete your applications. It is critical to have these documents ASAP to assure time to submit.
Parent/Staff video conferences are being scheduled to share updates related to childcare and planning for the 2020/21 school year.
